2026 FIFA World Cup Group E: Points Table, Results & Fixtures

Group E has that typical World Cup mix of big reputation and hungry teams trying to make their mark. Germany comes in with their strong history and experience in these tournaments, and they’re not a side that fades away easily, even when rebuilding. Ivory Coast have a lot of pace and strength, along with players who can change a game in a moment. Ecuador are well organized and plays with good intensity, which makes them tough to break down across the full match. Curaçao, meanwhile, enters as outsiders with nothing to fear, and they’ll be keen to show they belong at this level. Big names matter here, but what really counts is how teams perform on the pitch.

The first match of Group E will feature Germany taking on Curaçao on June 14, 2026, while the last group matches will be played on June 25, 2026, following a straightforward round-robin format. Each team plays the others once, totalling three matches per team. Standings are determined by points, with official Tie-Breaker Rules applied when necessary. The top two teams qualify directly for the Round of 32, while the third-placed team may still advance depending on its ranking among other third-placed teams.

With 48 teams competing, every result carries increased importance. A strong opening win can shift momentum, while early setbacks quickly raise the stakes. This page covers everything related to Group E, including the latest points table, match results, upcoming fixtures, and qualification scenarios as they evolve.

Step 1: Head-to-Head Criteria (Primary Tie-Breakers)

  • Greatest number of points obtained in matches between the teams concerned
  • Superior goal difference in matches between the teams concerned
